Kitsune Fox Plush Free Crochet Pattern

Hey everyone! It's been a SUPER long time since our last pattern at Love & Crochet, but we're very excited to be back with a special amigurumi 🦊 Even more exciting, this pattern was designed by someone brand new to Love & Crochet - please welcome Bloomalotl and their beautiful crocheted work!

Description


This little kitsune fox plush is the perfect addition to your amigurumi collection. It's small in size but huge in personality—with its three flaring tails and four stubby legs, this fox-like creature will add a fiery touch of uniqueness anywhere it travels.

Materials


Orange, white, and black yarn (size 4)

Hook- US, E/5 (3.75 mm)

Tapestry Needle


Abbreviations


Mr - Magic Ring

Ch - Chain

Rnd - Round

Htr - Half treble crochet



Dec - Decrease (Single Crochet)

Sc - Single Crochet

St - Stitch

Rep - Repeat



Pattern


Head (1x)

With the white yarn, create mr

Rnd 1: Sc 4 in mr (4)

Rnd 2: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (6)

Rnd 3: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (8)


Rnd 4: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next three st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (10)

Rnd 5: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next four st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (12)

Switch to orange yarn

Rnd 6: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (18)

Rnd 7: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (24)



Rnd 8: Sc in each st around (24)

Rnd 9: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next three st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (30)

Rnd 10-11: Sc in each st around (30)

Add safety eyes (see picture for reference)


Rnd 12: *Dec in next st, sc in each of next three st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (24)

Rnd 13: Sc in each st around (24)

Rnd 14: *Dec in next st, sc in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (18)

Rnd 15: *Dec in next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (12)



Stuff your work

Rnd 16: Dec in each st around (6)

Fasten off and hide remaining yarn endings.



Body (1x)

With the orange yarn, create mr

Rnd 1: Sc 6 in mr (6)

Rnd 2: Sc twice in each st around (12)

Rnd 3: *Sc twice in next st, sc once in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (18)



Rnd 4: *Sc twice in next st, sc once in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (24)

Rnd 5-9: Sc in each st around (24)

Rnd 10: *Dec in next st, sc once in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (18)



Rnd 11: *Dec in next st, sc in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (12)

Stuff your work

Rnd 12: Dec in each st around (6)

Fasten off



Ear (2x)

With black yarn, create mr

Rnd 1: Sc 4 in mr (4)

Rnd 2: *Sc twice in next st, sc once in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (6)

Switch to orange yarn



Rnd 3: *Sc twice in next st, sc once in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (8)

Rnd 4: Sc in each st around (8)

Do not stuff. Sew both ears to the head as shown in pictures


Tail (3x)

With black yarn, create mr



Rnd 1: 4sc in mr

Rnd 2: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (6)

Rnd 3: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next two st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (8)

Rnd 4: *Sc twice in next st, one sc in each of next three st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (10)



Rnd 5: *Sc in next st, htr in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (10)

Switch to orange yarn

Rnd 6: *Sc twice in following st, one sc in each of next four st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (12)

Rnd 7-8: Htr in each st around (12)



Rnd 9: Dec in each of next 6 st. Sc twice in each of the following 6 st (12)

Stuff your work

Rnd 10: *Sc in next st, dec in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (9)

Rnd 11: *Sc in each of next two st, sc twice in following st. Repeat from * to end of rnd (6)
